State broadcaster IRIB and the Fars news agency said one armed man was inside the mausoleum while at least eight people were wounded in the attack on Iran’s parliament building.
“A person entered Iranian parliament today and started shooting at the guards. He shot one of the guards in the leg and ran away,” the two semi-official Iranian news agencies, Fars and Mehr reported on their telegram feeds.
The identity and the motivation of the assailant was still unclear.
